This episode was packed with references to the first Jack-centric episode "White Rabbit" in Season 1. During that episode, Jack was chasing after his father's ghost, a parallel to Alice in Wonderland. He eventually found the caves with fresh water and his father's coffin. In tonight's episode he and Hurley found the caves and the coffin again. Kate also told him "I hope you find what you are looking for." As if she knew he was on the same kind of journey as he was in "White Rabbit." I'll mark more as I go...
Connect The Dots
Jack's apartment is the same he had in the other reality when he was one of the Oceanic 6.
Jacob's message to Jack was "You have what it takes." In Season 1, we saw Christian advise his son not to try to be a hero because he didn't have what it took to cope with failing. ("White Rabbit")When Jack looked in the mirror, or should I say through the looking glass, he was surprised to see his appendix scar. In the original storyline, Juliet removed his appendix on the island. ("Something Nice Back Home")
Details and Easter Eggs
This episode was the 108th produced hour of Lost. Isn't that cool?
The book Jack found on David's bed was The Annotated Alice which includes Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. (Another Jack-centric episode in S3 was "Through the Looking Glass.") Jack mentioned he used to read it to David. In the original story line, he read it to Aaron. He told Kate his father read it to him.
In Christian's office there was a bottle of MacCutcheon, Widmore and Anthony Cooper's favorite Scotch. It's interesting that he turned down the offer to drink. I guess he is not following in his father's alcoholic footprints in this reality.
The fact that Jack found Shannon's inhaler is another inside joke from the producers. Back at comic con, Jorge Garcia (Hurley) posed as a fan and asked about the inhalers. He mentioned that Saywer was tortured because everyone thought he had the inhalers but he never had them. "So what happened to them?" It was meant to ask the producers if ALL our questions would be answered in the final season. The answer of course is going to be 'no' but it is funny that they showed us the inhaler!
They ended up at the old caves where the Losties used to live in Season 1 and 2. Hurley found the old "Adam and Eve" skeletons. The producers have always said those skeletons would be proof that they always knew how Lost would end. People have been theorizing for years the who would end up being the skeletons. (Rose and Bernard, Desmond and Penny, Jack and Kate, etc.) Although I don't think anyone believes it will Jack and Hurley as Hurley speculated in this episode!
The key to David's mother's house was hidden under a white rabbit. A reoccurring theme on the show and another hint to the Season 1 episode.
The house Jack saw in the mirrors is the same house his mother is still living in in the flash-sideways.
I know you guys want to know all the names which were on the wheel. I'll have them up in a couple days. But for now I can tell you 108 looks like "Wallace" and 51 is "Austen" (as in Kate, not crossed out.)

Questions
What is going on with Jack not remembering his appendix scar? He seemed surprised to see it, as if it were new. Then said he remembered the details when his mom told the story. It almost seems like those memories were implanted there but he hadn't accessed them yet until that moment. And while we are on the topic, he and Kate both seemed to have those weird deja-vu moments during their flash-sideways but Locke never did in his.
Kate and Locke both had really significant run-ins with other characters we know and love. Kate spent the day with Claire. And we learned Good Dr. Ethan would take care of her. Through Locke's story we learned Helen, Hugo, and Rose all have great lives.
But Jack's coincidental meeting was with Dogen?!? Really? Dogen?!? Who cares about him? Why does he matter? Why should we care that he has a son the same age as Jack's son who we never even knew existed before tonight?! How about telling us who David's mother is? Ugh, I'm so disappointed.Other than my previous rant, I really loved this episode and enjoyed all the symbolism.
Namaste!
